.. whats with the reliability tho?

Im on my 2nd console in less than a year and now its making the most horrific noise and giving me disc read errors!

Its a shame as i think its a great unit.. or would be if it lasted as long as say a later PS2 (not the slimline tho).

zero problems with mine (bought on day of release) or any of my mates boxs and theyre all used heavily as communal ones in student/young professional houses where theyre used by several people in a house.

Then again theyre all kept under tvs, not moved around or anything unusual.

Not heard any irl people have a problem but a few people on these forums seem to...

yeah my mates has been faultless, mine just sits on the desk all day and had next to no use untill forza and dirt came out

Mine doesnt get much use to be completely honest - but its been going for almost a year and a half now.

No problems with mine... had it for nearly 18months.

FWIW, my console is on its back & not standing upright

Im on my 2nd, my first one was DOA, Duff HDD.
Ive had to repair the DVD Drive as I badly flashed it and its cracked my GoW disc.

Other than that, it gets abused.

I must admit i do use my xbox quite a lot and its been perfect. at the start i did get some random crashes, but not so much anymore.

I have no complaints, mind you ive only had it since crimbo so fingures cross.

hardly use mine, brought after the Christmas release.
hasnt minded being taken to mates etc so far.

bosses however has got the 3RoD and is due to be sent back.

got mine at the same time and had exactly the same problem

sometimes it would crash at the dashboard, or in game... mostly on vegas, but now it seems pretty stable

yeah iv noticed less of the random lockups

got my brand new xbox here from argos.. 1 year warrenty so they kindly swapped it out for me
