There has been a  price drop on the Pentium D series due to the release of Core 2 Duo on Monday http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/107617/rb/20635523195

Great chip for a semi-budget (dual core) machine, certainly worth twice the price of a a Sempron 2800+. I used to be an AMD fanboy but I am moving away from them to Intel at the moment. Getting me a Core 2 duo E6300 in the next month for my second machine, looking forward to it and all, awesome performance for 120 quid.

That said, I havent ruled out migrating back at some point, but I reckon these Conroe jobs are quite something (yes I do realise that the 6300 is an Allendale not a Conroe per se ...yawn :D)

Cheers
