Title: ADSL router with redunant links or???
Post by: madmax on August 24, 2006, 12:29:12 PM
Need to spec up a replacement to the "cheap assed" usb modem into server situation im currently in with work.

going to be needing a router that can handle either two adsl modems itself + "omg the networks died" dialup backup if possible.

what are my options?
need to give us some contingency with the internet connection.

ive got a rack for the comms gear so anything rack based is a big + for me as it saves making a shelf / other dodgy arrangement

You want to take a look at this thread:

I settled on a Cisco 2600 in the end (only got it yesterday) ! But imo that was an overkill decision (for my needs) and one of those netgear routers would have been fine.

If youre looking to remove the need for external modems, I think youre going to end up looking at Cisco with DSL WICs.

plan might have been scuppered yet by the boss...
