Kaspersky?
Good to see Avast beating both AVG and Norton anyhow. :)

Pulling your network cable :D

I use and like F-Prot.

Amusing about AOL, good to see they choose a good AV to base their free one on... Might even be worth downloading some AOL branded software :P

Was thinking my Nod32 on 10th !!! Got to get Kapersky or AOL but then I read further and saw Nod32 at top in heuristics .
QuoteHeuristic testing is extremely important because that is what gives an Antivirus the ability to catch a virus even it is not in the database.
So Ill keep Nod32 :)

No heuristics though, but then, its not such a big deal if the virus db is bang on and very regularly updated I guess.

AVG still does very well.

TBH Im still liking Sophos.  Its a great little proggy, though im living on the fact someone else pays my subscriptions :)

Just to say I installed the AOL AV on my dads desktop as his norton subscription expired the other day.  Time will tell, but it looks pretty promising at the mo.

On  related note:  Why does uninstalling Norton always corrupt the registry and stop computers from booting?  Thats two machines its borked, thankfully starting in Last Good Config mode fixes it  :?

The most interesting bit is that the AOL offering is a badged version of Kaspersky and seems to be free. Just try it out :)

I know, I already have.  Thats why I mentioned it  :?

Serious

but you didnt mention it was free ;)

Anyways now running a full scan to see if anything has gotten past me...

Seems OK so far except it gave the report :/

detected: adware not-a-virus:AdWare.Win32.Gator.1050   File: G:\install\getrt45d.exe/WISE0087.BIN

Didnt give the same elsewhere so I just deleted the exe for it dispite the fact its totally OK and everything seems fine. Nothing else detected.
