Hi all,

I am looking to spend up to $30 on a gfx card. My only requirements are dual DVI for my two monitors. I dont play games (I might play Starcraft 2 when it comes out but I am by no means a gamer). I dont really know what I should be getting.

My mate told me dont buy a card with less than 512mb ram... dunno why ?

knighty

what res do you run at ?

if its not a fancy gfx card, extra ram only really lets you run at a higher res / increasing game settings...

you only need enough room for whats on screen, and wahts going to be on screen in the next few fractions of a second

(or at least thats the way it used to be?)

Unless your rendering CAD work, playing games or running some rediculous res 1900 upwards,   Youll be wasting your money.

Im running a cheap NVS card Ive nabbed from work while my PSU is being RMAd.

As far as general use goes, web browing, multiple apps, I really wouldnt notice Im missing my 8800GTS.
