If so, has your site been hacked too?

Im glad I bought hosting with GoDaddy now, after this I wont be staying with them

blueguy have gone to a bad place, its basically servers running and nothing else, if you go to the support forum its people trading and linking porn and nothing else

According to some posts on their forum, theyve been bought out by UH-Hosting.

Which explains a lot.

Well, Im out of it now. Luckily enough, I was planning to get my stuff transfered over to GoDaddy anyway and had made a backup of my database and Joomla/SMF mods the night before. My site is now up and running on my new host.

I paid monthly with Bluguy so no big loss.

A certain person who shall remain nameless with CS was letting me have a few MBs of webspace free for my avatar and sig pics. When he found out that I wouldnt budge on my ethics of modding the SC forum or push any special treatment in his direction he had a tizzy, threw his toys out of his pram and I moved to etglobalsolution.

http://www.godaddy.com offers a moving service which might be your best option if you dont mind going USA

Hopefully etglobalsolution have sorted out the email problem on my account :nana:

Ive already tried and the email thats suposed to go to them comes back to me, and theres nothing i can do with it :(

im with uk reg thingie for a couple of different domains i have thats im not using.... therve got a thing so theyll register your domain with them for you as soon as its avalible :)

Ive just been reading through their support forums.

What a bunch of incompetent, unprofessional bedroom amateurs!

I would pay money to see the sort of ramshackle hardware they run. Prob some bitsa boxes with one power supply and IDE drives.

Back when Olly was in charge, he said that he had invested in some Dell Poweredge boxes with mirrored SCSI hard drives.

I dont know how true that is.

Hmm, had hosting with them for a couple of years. Going to whitegiant.co.uk doesnt give me anything, yet any pics I have on there seem to be fine.

Without reading up on the finer points, will Blueguy sort it or I will I have to transfer my domain?

From what i have seen, it should be sorted, dunno how stable it will be but the techie there seems decent.

On the other hand it is owned by UH and we all know how good they are...

Just checked, still got FTP & CPanel access, just seems all my .html files have gone walkies.

Quite odd, cant remember the last time I paid em.

Whats this obsession with godaddy? Theyre cowboys like 1and1. Get it regged with fasthosts / ukreg and dont look back.

Well all I need really is my domain and some space for the odd file and pictures. Who would be best for this? Also do ya have to pay to transfer domains?

Had a few problems with etglobalsolutions until they got my billing sorted out. Most, if not all of them are traceable back to their servers getting hacked a bit ago. Not mailing out bills and then getting a mail every day saying that a transaction that had gone through had failed. Seem to have sorted it out so they are back in my good books for the moment.

I check my mail *every day* so they were getting to be quite an irritant even though the service otherwise is as good as any ;)

Probably a connection problem again, rather than a server problem
