Title: Asus Striker with 8800GT problem
Post by: shofty on June 05, 2008, 09:21:30 AM
Ive got the Asus Striker Extreme after reading about it in my upgrade thread. Ive paired it with the Point of View 8800 GT DVI

I ran into the CPU INIT problems with the motherboard just like everyone else who bought this board. This is basically due to the BIOS thats shipped not being able to understand memory that runs at 2.3v. got past that with a stick of 3200.

Now Ive got some sort of compatability issue between the gfx card and the mb. i get long beep two short beeps repeatedly which is gfx problem.

so anyone know what Ive got wrong?

The MB has 3 PCI Express slots, should I have put the card in any particular one? Ive tried it in all three with no result.

anyone got any ideas?

all power is definitely connected.

psu is 500w so should just about cope with a quad core and an 8800GT right?

Yes it should.
If you can try it it another PC , look on the Asus site & POV site to see if there is a known issue , failing that looks like RMA time :(
