Can someone recommend a good software for capturing audio on the fly within a game.  Keystroke activated (whilst in-game) preferred.

Fraps will do it, but I think itll record the visual aspect too, although you could rip the entire thing, then just run audacity to pull the audio whilst you play the .avi Fraps outputs.

Used Audacity in the end.  Pain in the ass having to start before the game but it worked.
