RAID mode is effectively the same as AHCI mode, so it shouldn't matter if you're in RAID mode still.

Finally got home from work and got it all put togethrr. Picked up a zalman z9 case from maplin on way home too as my old case was knackered. It seems like a really good quality case.

Just installing windows now. Ive had a few issues.
My old big copper zalman cooler wont fit on so am using the standard intel oem thing and its tiny cant imagine it being upto much so what are people using for hsf these days?
Also my ram is booting at 1333mhz when set to auto in the bios. It should be 2400mhz I think. Do I just change the clock manually? Or am I missing something?

That case looks pretty nice.

For the memory it will be the divider you need to change I think, not the clock. But it should be able to pick up the speeds via SPD though, see if that's an option? Strange that is not set right on automatic.

Also, I'm using a massive Noctua cooler, if your Zalman one won't fit you probably wouldn't get one of these in.

Its not that it wont physically fit, the attachment to the mobo is different so not compatible. I'll look into the Notura ones. Need a black cd drive too :p

I'll have a play with the ram once I get all the drivers installed, need some sleep now.

Nothing a black marker pen won't fix. It's what I did, looks really classy!

Quite right! I'll look into it.

Somehow it had ended up set to Africa for the server timezone... fixed!

I've just been installing all the drivers for the system and noticed that my 2 big data HDD's arent showing up in my computer.
They show up in the bios and in the intel storage manager software and even in the device manage, although as scuzzi drives.

I guess it has something to do with my being in RAID mode in the bios for the 2 ssds. But the 2 big drives arnt in RAID just normal.

How do I get them to show up and keep my ssds in RAID?

doesnt matter now, just had to assign them a letter in disk management. Why the hell wouldnt windows do that anyway?
