Im on Pipex, its reliable but no longer cheap as others have gradually undercut its prices.
Depends on what he mean by cheap.
Keconnect are the best by a country mile,
Look at the comparisons on ADSL guide, coupled with the fact they are running on about 40% network capacity.
They arent the cheapest though.
Nildram have been by far the best ISP ive been with but you pay extra for it.
Bulldog were very cheap and fast however if you ever had to call their customer service you would want to start killing people
With Telewest 10mb at the moment and havent had a single problem in the last 6 months Ive had it

im on a Ã,£35 a month package that includes Free calls evenings and weekends, as well as the basic TV package and 2Mb. I dont need anything faster unless they are going to give me a 1Mb or higher upload to go with it. Seems like a decent enough package frrom initial testing and tinkering
id also say blueyonder/telewest im on there 4meg, but its cable not adsl
