Thought I would reincarnate this thread from the old boards.... mostly cause I am playing my favourite game.

Just list what you think is the best game or games ever in your eyes, no limiting to consoles or pc or anything. Just what you believe to be the pinnacle of gaming.

For me it has to be suikoden, an epic game that even though was still fairly 2D graphics for psx had some of the best gameplay and storyline of any game I have come across. Watching as your castle improves as you collect more people to your cause is my favourite part.

Starcraft, is pritty well up thier in my fave games at the moment...

But my all time fave has to be Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time...

Goblin

Ocarina of Time. Hands down.

Link to the Past is right up there too.

Goblin
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo... Again.

Bought the game on the day of release beat everyone I know of to the end and finished it without stopping.. Then ive replayed the game to death!

Ocarina of time is a classic, but i dont know.

Suikoden just has a special place in my heart and i know it is the same for alot of people

Beaker

Resource Managemnte : AOE
RTS : C&C Tiberian Sun & Starcraft
FPS : Far Cry
Action : Mechwarrior 3 & 4

I still play all of them on a regular basis, Mech 4 i still play online.  I still play quite a few other old games as well, but those are the PC Games that leap to mind instantly as classics.

Console :
Silent Hill on Playstation
Rogue squadron on N64
Soul Caliber on Dreamcast
Legend of Zelda on Nintendo

Far Cry! That made me laugh...

Badabing

Has to be Tetris DS [Tetris] for me...

Genius; spawned a million clones and is so simple, yet so compelling and addictive to play...

You dont have to a gamer to play it - just logical and mentally agile... and the online option is superb...

10/10

kranked

Final Fantasy 7 on PC or Playstation.

Incredible game.

Then something old skool like "Altered Beast" on Megadrive :P

I owned the original console and game, so many days spent swinging from vine to vine

Serious

We should still have our original 2600 somewhere...

X-wing - tie fighter
The original Doom
Space invaders.

Pong was rediculously good for two players given the minimal resources it ran on.

Had them both as well. A few 2600 games really were great. Awful graphics, but your imagination had to take over.

"Basketball" was hilarious
