Title: Best value-for-money ISP for ADSL?
Post by: Sara on July 31, 2006, 11:15:08 AM
As subject really.

Moving into a house of 5 in the coming month - were not really heavy duty leechers, but think that it might be worth going uncapped as making sure we dont exceed about 40GB between us is going to be hard, I think.

Any suggestions? Dont need any more than the pure broadband service really - no emails/domains/webspace/phone deals etc.

Thanks!

Plusnet are good :) They do have caps mind except for the top end one.

Mind you, im a hefty user and im nowhere near the now 20gb peaktime cap. 1 month I used 4 GB at those hours.

(used to be a 15gb cap for Ã,£21.99 a month, but theyve upgraded me to a 20gb cap for the same price due to increased capacity :D)

Yup, still a good deal on the Ã,£17.99. And a decent fair use policy too.

Tiscali are renowned for being poor.

Cancellations, Mac Codes, and Customer service is all rated poorly with tiscali.

Id say chuff it and go with plusnet :D lol. Best package they do is uncapped, and traffic filtering has yet to adversely affect me :)

Either that, or have a look at http://www.adslguide.org.uk

your complete resource, for DSL ISPs.

enjoy :)

Im with Nildram. been with them since I had 512/256. I now have an 8mb service (although the exchange is somewhere in a town about 3 or so miles away, so I never actually get 8mb.

Router syncs at around 5MB most of the time, but my download speeds are 400 - 450KB/s or thereabouts, so not too bad.

reliable, never ever had to phone them or email etc - it just works - fair use of 50GB, what you dont use gets carried over to next month.

Mine generally sits at 100GB all the time (it keeps adding up month after month what you dont use, but doesnt go past 100GB!) and I think the quota only counts from sometime during the day til 11pm at night.. after that its unlimited or something.

happy with them, but...........you get what you pay for. Its Ã,£22.99 a month iirc.  worth it, id say :)

expensive, yes...  but value for money? yes..  theres a difference between a Skoda Fabia, and a Citroen Saxo.

ones value for money, the others cheap and nasty
