Righty oh, im an avid fan of ABC client for bit torrent.

However for example on the current file im downloading (latest dapper release of ubuntu! :D) its showing 84 seeders and 290+ leechers, yet im only getting 3kb/s of throughput.

My computer is on a DMZ so no ports are blocked, XP firewall is off, and the text is a lovely bright green.

So what gives?

Is it the client thats letting me down after all this time?

Hmmm, I use Shareaza when booted into XP for all of my d/ling fun. Open source and worth a shot. Opera also has a built in client. Worth a shot.

lol :) well now its choosing to go at 100kb/s may give abc another go.

I like the look of utorrent more along the lines of what im looking for. Light and simple interface. No flashyness :)

Yes I have  Ã,µTorrent on one machine and azureus on another and am going to use Ã,µTorrent on both, azureus
does use a lot of resources.

Any linux distros tend to be distributed with em :) along with a lot of video podcasts that I watch (Diggnation, Systm, Hak5).

I found Ã,µTorrent  had issues with something on my PC when I tried it.

As everyone says azureus is a system whore. Had to reboot my little download box at least every 12 hours while I was using it.

I use bitSpirit (when what I want isnt on newzservers), its a good compromise of features and performance and its never caused me any problems.

Also, as for your speed woes, I was having the same slow torrent program when I installed XP SP2, I olved it when I found an outbount connection patch. ApparentlySP2 limits outbound connections which fubars torrents. It was meant to e a security feature.

Ive probably got the patch somewhere if your using SP2 and you want to try it.
