Ã,
Can anyone clue me in as to how to get music actually ON to an iPod nano?

I dont mind iPods so much but why is iTunes such a monumentally crap piece of software?

All I want to do is drag a file to the Nano and have it physically copy to the device rather than create all these stupid (and non-working) shortcuts.

Grrr.

Thank you! :)

You need to have iTunes loaded, and have the Nano showing in iTunes first.

Then any tracks you want to copy across need to be imported into iTunes (under File -> Add File/Folder to library), before you can then copy them over to the Nano.

Alas, you cant just copy an mp3 over to the Nano in explorer or anything

Serious

Wereas on any cheapo alternative you can treat it just like a memory stick, dump the files over and go boogie

Thats such a load of crap as well because if you import MP3s it then re-encodes than as MP4/AAC files and transcoding is awful for sound quality.

I thought you were a dyed-in-the-wool Mac-Hater Eagle? Surely you havent bought a pod and come over to the iSide(tm)?!

Just add a ton of bricks from a great height, then go out and buy something else...

It seems you can convert over any itunes you have bought with software, providing you dont mind breaking the law a bit.

You can change that in 2 seconds in settings. All songs on my iPod are in mp3 format.

Im sure I looked for a setting to change that last time I used it but couldnt find one

Either I missed it or his version of the software off the CD doesnt have it :?:
