Hi,
Firstly, hi to all! I am new to signing up to these forums although have been a floater for about a year now. Thought Id sign up just so I can commend Brummie on his bad jokes!!! They make me laugh!!
I would like to get broadband at home ... currently between me and my fiance we have two pc laptops and an Apple minimac. Ideally would want a wireless router. Can you recommend me an ISP which will allow both the PCs and the Apple to connect.
I was thinking Tiscali off the top of my head ... but would generally like some recommendations.
Cheers,
MrT
Any isp will allow either PCs and Macs to connect.
The simplist solution for you would be to get a router. As for an IS, Pipex are good, ive never had a problem with them, and they arnt too bad price wise.
In regards to the router id reccomend a Netgear DG834G. Its both wired and wireless, so you have the option of both if you need it.
Take a look at www.adslguide.org for info on ISPs. I like plusnet :)
A friend at work has recommended Freedom 2 Surf? Any good? I think I may well go with Pipex or Plus Net - have had a look at ADSL guide and done comparisons against Tiscali, BT, Bulldog and TalkTalk which I seem to hear a lot about, they both came out above all the ones listed.
Will make a decision this evening so if anyone else does have an opinion on this; all replies appreciated.
Many Thanks
i am abig fan of Pipex and Nildram, not the cheapest but good support and service.
i have heard nothing but bad about talk talk.
Talk talk have a three month plus waiting list, its also a lossleader , they dont make much if any profit.

talk talk just did my old mans house in 3 weeks.
I asked them in their metrocentre shop and thats what they told me.
Many Thanks for all your help!!!! I signed up to Plus Net this morning. They say 5-7 days before I am switched on ... is it really this quick? I was expecting 3-6 weeks?
In France you would be connected before the weekend, the equipment is already at the exchange so all they have to do is send someone out to connect your line.
Talk-Talk have had the problem of excessive success in people applying.

probably so you dont go back complaining if they are late.
