Is it just me or is there something missing from this game? apart from the seabourne action that is. Graphics are good, the bots play well enough but Im still thinking there should be something else... :/
I agree. Its a cracking game but it missed that special something that made both C&C and Red Alert playable for hours on end.
yeah
even network games which are normally 10 times better are missing something :(
I like it.
There are some nice 3rd party maps out there too.
Ive played it two or three times over, and I agree there is something missing, and Ill tell you what it is : the music.
No Hell-March, no Mechanical-Man.
Listen to an MP3 of Mechanical Man and tell me you dont shiver slightly. 8)
It is missing everything that seperated c&c from all the other rts games around.
It is a good rts, but it doesnt have the character, the story, the acting, the ott installer, the little extra touches.
It was made by a company that cares more about graphics than gameplay and innovation.... so i cant say i am suprised really
Its true - I had this discussion with a mate when it first came out. He loved it but i could never warm to it. There was nothing really bad about it - it just lacked the X factor so to speak. Ahh the good old daysa of red alert.....
Yep fully agree with RivKid, I also didnt understand how he raved about it :P
Just been playing a nice game as China partnered with a brutal GLA computer player against a pair of brutal China computer players. Stuffed their nuclear ICBMs after they managed to launch a pair at the GLA with my own and then went all out nuclear war. ended up with one of theirs completely obliterated and all the second had left was a supply centre. My parther sends in a load of infantry to attack it and I pulled back my tanks. I then noticed his Scud Storm counter on one second, he launched just about a second before the building exploded. The only things left to receive the scuds were his own troops.
Talk about brutal?
Hopefully Supreme Commander has that something something
the zerg there but also the tactics.
