I upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista when it released as preordered from Amazon.

Lately, I noticed my system running a bit sluggish and found that my CPU resources are usually 100%.

I found currently that iTunes and Opera are 2 of the culprits of that when I check my Task Manager along with MSN Messenger.

Is there a way to fix this problem? Any solutions are much appreciated.

Thanks.  8-)

Dont use em? :)

Plenty of alternatives for both.

Opera 10.5 is fine but its usually iTunes that does the problem.

Any iTunes alternatvie as I got an iphone and have to use iTunes to put music onto it.

I think at some point a while ago iTunes on my computer started to do something similar and it ended up being due to the kontiki/kservice skyplayer thingymajig.

Any fix for iTunes to prevent it happening?

knighty

in task manager, under the processes tab, go view / select colums

and add the ones for cpu, cpu time, ane memory etc....

always helps with this kind of problem solving ;)

Thanks knighty. What am I looking for when I have done this?

knighty

anything thats miles ahead of the other stuff running...
loads of cpu time, or mem used...

right now...  I have...

system idle process 984 hours
firefox 10 hours
bit torrent just over an hour

and everything else is practially only a few min or sec...
(mine is on 24/7 doing nothing most of the time)

might not help you at all.... but has helped me a few times in the past :-)
