Ive always been content with a basic, stripped down, bare to the bones setup for Windows XP with themes and everything disabled, however with the addition of a second monitor to my PC Ive began running a lot of 3d applications in windowed mode so I can mouse between the two using Ultramon without the 3d application minimising itself as it does when its in full screen mode.. Is there way to customise things like the toolbar size and the titlebars at the top of windows to make them as small and unobtrusive as possible so I can still run things in windowed mode but with the minimum of clutter on screen? Incidentally I dont want to auto-hide the taskbar completely, just shrink it to a lot smaller than Windows allows.

I assume there will be some kind of theme software or suchlike that will allow this but as previously mentioned its not something Ive really delved into much in the past.

Any help would be much appreciated!

yeah window blinds is superb. I just got Xp Black edition (torrent) - a 4Gb windows Xp installation and its absolutely great. Looks like Vista (but prob a bit nicer) and runs as stable as Xp - perfection!!

Rivkid looks like a very early and old version of vista beta, far better looking xp skins then that out there

I thought the thread was about a good customisation route for XP and thought Id try to be helpful (which is kind of the point of the forums..)by sharing what I use. If its helpful then great, if its not hey nothing lost. But whats the point in a I know a better xxx than you post I mean for gods sake...

Dude, take your own advice and read my post again, I stated what it looked like and that there are some new versions around looking more like the actual vista and for me better looking, You may have not known that or seen them so I stated that there are

I would have thought a better post from your end would have been along the lines of if your after a nice vista skin Ive found this one at http://usefullink.com which I think looks incredible  I can see the validity in that.
