Miss Kinkys new laptop came with lots of gubbins preinstalled including what appears to be Client for NetWare Services (which Ive disabled but still appears to load/cause issues...)

Anyway, she maintains that all was well for a while, but now whenever she boots up she gets a client login screen that was never there before. I assumed that a visit to User Accounts in CP would fix this, but it will not let me change the setting to display Welcome Screen as it states that Client fo NetWare Services has disabled this, even though Ive turned it off and disabled it in Computer Management > Services.

Any ideas guys? Its also narking her off because the shutdown window has changed to a dropdown list including log off, instead of the usual three Stand By, Restart and Shut Off buttons.

Running XP Pro, SP 2.

Go to network connections, right-click the one youre using, go properties, highlight "Client for Netware Services" and click uninstall.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

The pull down shutdown dialog is there because the Welcome screen is turned off and the standard WinNT/2k style login screen is being used. Turn the welcome screen back on by going to the Control Panel, going to User Accounts, press "Change the way users log on and off" and check "Turn on the welcome screen", that will restore the three buttoned shutdown thing

Like I said, Client for NetWare services has locked it out Im afraid, so I cant change the option. :?

sdp, I seem to recall I had disabled it from there as well, but it would not let me uninstall it for some reason. Ill have to take another look next weekend. Thanks guys.
