I have just bought a Wii today which is being delivered tomorrow.

What games do you have and what are the must have or top games that you would recommend?  Have no idea whats good and whats not?

Suggestions please, thank you!

Vini

Had one, sold it after 3 days. Same old childish nintendo rubbish. (IMO of course)

Sweenster

My top games would be:-

Zelda - Just because..

Wii Play - Games are ok, but basically worth it for the extra wiimote

Warioware - Really shows you what the wiimote can do and the minigames are great

Mario Strikers - Even if you aint a football fan the game is great, just mad fun mostly

Other than that it is down to personal taste

I cant stand Red Steel, though others love it

Thanks, will bear that in mind before I take it back, ha ha!!  I have actually bought it for the lesser serious gaming.  Really loved playing Gears of War on the 360 which I was going to buy, but dont ever play a console on my own so think it would be a waste.  Would always play a console with a few mates.  The girls are not really into the 360, and the Wii just looks like something silly and entertaining, so for my purposes a good choice.

I dont have one but I get to play on one quite a bit. I really enjoy MP xcite trucks but I dont know what the SP is like.

Ok have to say I LOVE Red Steel and its easily my most played Wii game. Really dont know why people didnt like it but hey each to their own (although people should stop moaning about the graphics because its a friggin Wii console and theyre bloody good for the hardware theyre on).

Wii Play sucks but yeah its worth it for the extra controller. Wii Sports is excellent so you have to get that. Id also recommend Rayman which is great fun and Wario Smooth Moves. I also hear the Medal of Honour is pretty damned good although I havent played it myself.

Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!

I really didnt like Red Steel, it wasnt the greatest of fps but it always felt like it would be so easy to complete if it was just on a keyboard and mouse. It has some novelty value but nothing really mind-blowing. Mario Soccer is fantastic, five stars from me, well worth buying. Zelda is great as with all Zelda games.

meh cant agree - for me only Black on the Xbox and Max Payne 1&2 on PC got close to the feeling of satisfaction youd get for machine gunning people down. I mean I love CoD and stuff but for just pure, action hero, adrenline gun-toting I reckon its about as good as they get.

On another note how does Mario Soccer work? I looked at the videos and thought it looked awful so steered well clear but everyone says its great?

Chip the f**ker & download demos :D

I used to chip every console I owned, but have to admit, you fall into that dont bother playing games to their fullest and gets bored quickly as you can dload everything.  Am much more happier, buying something every so often that has great reviews and then playing it till the end.  Then I look forward to a new game.  I remember having both a PS1/2 and XBOX and having like over 200 odd games on each ... think i only ever played 2 or 3 of them to the end.

On another note, anyone recommend some good Wii game review sites?

Havent seen much about chipping the Wii - how hard and how useful is it? Theres bound to be a down side somewhere though. I loved my chipped Xbox (black) but I never felt the need to take it on line. That said the Wii doesnt do much online yet - is it going to is the question?

It doesnt use much of the motion sensing etc, but the game would be stupid if it did.

Controls similar to most football games but the few tiny bits of added control the wiimote has that are used are great for just giving that tiny bit of extra gameplay

Truly one of the most fun, and at times challenging, games on the wii atm

Multiplayer works well, though this game isnt really a chuck someone in and play party game like alot are.

You can play both Wii & Gamecube backups. You can even put mulitple games onto a disc.

Theres a "homebrew" Chip thats developed by a  community or you can look at the cyclowiz or  wiikey or a few others

Cant stand Red Steel, the game is aweful.

The Wii game that I have played most is DragonBall Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2.  Its a great fighting game and the controls are done very well. That reminds me, I still need to buy Mortal Kombat.
