Hi everybody.

A friend of mine just broke up with her bf but hes now taken over her domain names, both .co.uk and .com and changed the passwords. Problem is despite the fact that she paid for it, the domains are in his name (as she stupidly got him to set it up!). You guys got any suggestions on how to proceed? Ive already tried reasoning with him but to no avail.

if it was his, then theres no way round it as far as i can see? except a court battle she probably wont win!

Court... thats it. Could go to ICANN or Nominet.. but theyd laugh at you.

If she paid for it, contact the webserver hosts, and ask them to send the account details to the address registered to the card that paid for the services?

Im not opptermistic about her chances either, but Ill see if she at least used her credit card to pay for it.

If its hername.co.uk shed probably win it in court fairly easily.  Especially if he changes any content to be defamatory.  Then she can sue on several grounds.

If its just a general .co.uk address which he paid for and has password control of then its his tbh.  Diplomacys the only hope in that case.
