To sum it up to place spore and mass effect on your pc you will need a stable net connection and renew your game EVERY 10 DAYS!!!!! or your game locks up.
What a total and complete idiotic idea

Meh, the crack will be floating around long before the first 10 days are up.

True which brings to the point - What is the point of them doing?
What the result is will be the opposite of what they are after, even when we buy the game we will hack it to remove the annoyance.

The article makes a good point. Why bother buying a retail game, when getting a torrent and a crack is less complicated?

sometimes I think the games/music industries actually like piracy going on so they have something to moan about.

Each time they bring out a new type of anti-piracy thing the same argument comes out. Think it was when sony games installed that hidden program that kept an eye on you was when i 100% decided torrents and cracks were actually the way to go. It makes everything easier.

As said above... why do they think making everyones life harder will reduce piracy? Its not only going to push people to use cracks its going to piss off the people that still want to stick to retail.

Give it a couple months and they will either come up with an even stupider idea or try and sly something in without telling anyone (again)

QuoteThe games will now only authenticate with internet servers once upon installation. This obviously wont solve the problem where gamers want to be able to install the game on multiple machines at once, and also wont solve the Bioshock issue, where the launch day traffic to activation servers takes them down, resulting in lots of gamers unable to play.

Good points there.

I think steam is the only sucessful thing like this that has happened and some people still bitched about that :P
