its about a young boy who cracks this world war 2 code, and no one else can figure it out.

I remember this one scene where this old man says to the boy "Ill teach you how to draw" and then the boy draws a perfect circle.

Please someone tell me you know what im on about? its bugging me!

Could be "Mercury Rising " ?

Though thats set in modern times and not WW2 era with the boy deciphering a government code, it stars Bruce Willis btw.
