Been looking at getting an upscaler dvd player (1080p pref with hdmi), any recommendation or warnings if youve bought a bad one.

First good question is going to have to be whats your budget?

Also depends on the TV you have. Either the DVD player needs to upscale or the TV does. If you have a good TV with decent upscaling ability, the DVD player will do nothing for you.

You tend to need to get into the half decent DVD players before you get a good dedicated upsclaing chip.

Consider buying a Toshiba HD-DVD player which, if you can still find one, are going for silly money now and do a very good upscaling job.
