bought one of these the other day only had it a day loads of fun with it, well suprised at some of the places that have bad or no encrypton, like the local co-op was using wep .. hope they dont have anything else plugged into that conection .. arnt gonna switch there again just incase ... lol .. sos cant stop laughing about the early learing center having open network .. somehow i dont think theyd let me sit in there all day ..lol .......
anyhow i bought this for a reason , i wanna map all the aps in my area, and the added bonus of having ap function i can use later for messing with long distance links, .. 85% happy with it id say .. only problem is its not very directional to pinpoint locations .. been looking for pigtail mods for a little while i cant find anytihing ... so ive had to crack it open .. really shouldnt be doing this seen as ive only had it a day.. had to de-solded the shielding covering the front driver to try find which chip it is, so i could find the rf out, which wasnt fun ... got a data sheet for it .. but the out is covered in resistors all over, and i blind myself trying to look at them. so that was a waste of time just hoping its the common point i think it is at ......

im not stealing bandwith .. its leagal just to scan isnt it? thats all im gonna be doing
i wont be carring a laptop around with me just the usb signal detector .. there is no way i can connect to anything .. just wanna map the area .. so i when i mess about making antennas if i pick up a new network i know how for im picking stuff up
might have to make a 2 mile link for someone in the next few weeks so messing with homemade antennas
