Got the box set, watched and loved the serires and then left it for a while so I did not watch it to death.
Watching it through again now and its the right kind of interesting and exiciting and fun, good style and well written.

Serenity was good and did well at the box office - Made good money and in businesses thats what you want.


So why did they try and cancel it mid way through series 1 and why has there been no more? Still cant work it out there has been more crap running for longer with less viewer ratings then that, take that crap Andromida for example

They cancelled it because it was crap. I love my Sci-Fi but in all honesty I managed about 3 episodes of FireFly before becoming totally bored with the whole thing.

They cancelled it because they didnt think it was popular enough.  End Of Story, I too love my Sci-Fi and it did take a couple of episodes to click.

Ive seen some other good series cancelled for exactly the same reasons, Space Above and Beyond being a notable one (Excellent series, but killed off).  The thing with Firefly/Serenity was that it has Joss Whedon in charge, and all his old Buffy and Angel fans also watched the show.   If it hadnt been him doing it then nobody would have said a word.

I really liked Firefly. It got cancelled because the viewing figures werent great, and this was mostly down to the network. They decided to air the Firefly episodes in a different order to what was intended. Can you imagine if the middle episodes of 24 got aired before the first? Wouldnt make a whole lot of sense to the viewers now would it  

Firefly was excellent, but as Nos has said, Fox decided to air the episodes in the wrong order so people were obviously a little confused as to what was going on. The original order they were shown were 2-3, 6; 7-8, 4-5, 9; 10, 14, 1; with 11-13 unaired in the USA.

Multiverse have acquired the licence to make an MMO based on the Firefly universe which should be released in 2008. Hopefully theyll do it right.

Yep, the view ratings were funny because it was not even given the chance, aired at silly times and out of order and little to no advertising.

It was a shame becuase i Loved it
