I cant wait for the rev...

If the DS is anything to go by - with its novel features such as the touch screen, mic and wifi connection (which go to make some incredibly good games like Tetris DS and Mario Kart DS); as well as the brilliant innovations nintendo come up with for gameplay, its going to be one hell of a system...

Im not even going to bother with a PS3 or an XBOX360, all they are is Megadrives and SNES with better graphics*, the Rev actually has gone forward with its design...

*save for internet connection and hard drive capabilities which the MD and SNES actually had in a round about way (they just never took off).

Also i refuse to pay over 200 quid (IF THAT!) for a console...

Im also going to be buying the revolution. Ive no need for an xbox 360 or ps3 as I have a PC. But the revolution is a bit different. For my FPS/racing/rts/good graphicky games Ill use the PC.

Its going to be another console that is great for having people around with :)

Youre not wrong, nintendo rules for pissups!  Pretty much every week my mates and I nip to the local pub on bikes, gobble down Ham egg + chips and a few pints of Harveys best, then try to cycle back to mine in a sorry state for some Nightfire deathmatch action :D  Best night ever tbh

Poison_UK

Used to be Goldeneye night here... Ever Wedensday night used to be two crates of Fosters, sum fish and chips and Goldeneye till we where too drunk to do anything... Usually ended up in the funny situations... One of the bets placed was that who ever lost had to dress up as a drag queen for the rest of the night... Fwahhh Richard looked... Ermm well lets just say im mentally screwed up after that day forever :D

Lol.  Youve tipped me over the edge!  Just organized a GC night for tonight.  Shame I have to catch a 9am train tomorrow  :?

Smugs

Ill be sticking with my PC for a while I think and if I do go for a next gen console it will probably be the 360 although not until the price as come down alot.

Yay Revolution :)

On topic, screenshots look great. TO be honest, the whole HD thing is way overblown, weve been playing PC games at higher resolution than HD for years and, tbh, the only time you really appreciate it is if you stop to specifically look at the quality of the graphics.

Check out some shots from Zelda Twilight Princess, stunningly beautiful looking and its a Gamecube game.

The Revolution wont be as graphically advanced as XB360/PS3 and it just doesnt matter. The games will still look awesome and the gameplay is where Nintendo always shine.

It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo... Again.

Is Zelda Twilight Princess out for the GC btw?

Goblin

No, it was due to be out last year, then it was delayed until February, then April.

It now has been delayed again as the team (headed by Miyamoto) wants to make it the best game ever and do some interesting new stuff, both in terms of gameplay mechanics and image quality.

Its now expected to be released almost simultaneously with the Revolution which will act as a beautiful swansong for the GC and also as a great boost to get people without a GC to buy the Revolution. There is some speculation that a lot of the delay is to allow the Rev control to be used when its played on that console (rather than using a GC controller plugged in).

Should be worth the wait, but damn Im getting antsy waiting for it (and the Revolution).

Either youre hard to impress of you were looking at some of the older screen shots. More recent ones:
