Title: Game.co.uk Pricing
Post by: Bacon on May 22, 2008, 13:00:50 PM
Leading upto AOC release the price was £24.99

Checked today out of sheer boredom and the price has risen to £29.99

Bit confused at how price can change overnight, i have a pre-order receipt here but they wouldnt
let me pay for the game in advance, its just got Age of Conan preorder 0.00 with a code.

Think its a bit dodgy ill have to pay £5 more now  :gag:

+ they already swindled me for a Game Club Card for £3 or something, not even sure i had to buy that to enable me to pre order, seemed like a ploy to get me to signup..

Its still £24.99 on Gamestation - https://www.gamestation.co.uk/product.asp?id=101280652972876

I wont shop at Game anymore due to things like this, they screwed me other for an expansion pack a while ago, Im finding that they are usually very over priced as well for general games and hardware..

When I pre-ordered two copies of Age of Conan with Game.co.uk the order status was plastered with notes saying that since I pre-ordered if the price rises before launch I will only be charged the price the product was when I initially placed the order, whilst if it drops Ill receive the lower rate.

Cant argue with that to be honest.

Good good Chris, i actually pre-ordered in store from Game, and online with Gamestation but i cancelled the latter a while ago.

I guess ill know tommorow, but ill stand firm at the £24.99 price. This is all if i can get into town as its all been closed off today.

I pre-ordered a Wii Wheel from them. Cost went up £2 or £3 but did receive an email from them stating I would be charged the original price when i ordered it. Which is fair enough.

If you can prove the £25 part, phone trading standards - as you pre-ordered you entered into an agreement

Sorry Bacon, I didnt realise youd ordered in store, I have to admit to skimming your post and not really taking in the bit about the receipt that kind of gives that away, I just assumed youd ordered online since you mentioned game.co.uk. To be honest if they do such a good policy for those who pre-ordered online the least they should do is honour the same system in store. If the receipt has a date on it they should be able to check back on their system to confirm what the price was on the date you placed your pre-order.
