The wooden panel doors in NCIS : LA use the switch sound effect from Doom.

It is not that they are from games though. There is a well known huge library - constantly updated that you can purchase the licence for to use audio samples that saves you a crap load of money.
I think it has been mentioned about a few times on these very forums too I forget the name of it though.

Game companies do invest a lot in their own audio but even the ones with the bigger budget still tap into these libraries.
I heard things in Game of Thrones  I have heard in other shows.

yeah what nexus said about the library.

anyway the generic police radio chatter that is on the original GTA is used in loads of films.

I've heard the Bear sound in WOW literally everywhere, movies and tv etc, also some of the old sounds from Carmageddon.

I hear sounds from TV shows in ads on TV the ads during the same show, at first I thought the show started again and turned to the TV.
