I have an unlocked Huawei E160 USB Modem that I want to use with an iPhone PAYG SIM I bought off eBay. To get the iPhone SIM and E160 to work together I have to register the iPhone SIM. I dont have an iPhone and possibly dont even know someone who has one .

How can I register the iPhone SIM to get free WiFi/3g? Whats the process on the iPhone? Do I ust pop it in and hand over some card details? Maybe I could pop into somewhere like carphone warehouse and see if I could get them to do it? or someone down the local market .
If I do use a friends iPhone to register my PAYG SIM on their iPhone and I later get caught for breaking T&Ts will my friend get his iPhone blocked or something?

Just whack it in any unlocked mobile and then top-it-up.

I have one here waiting for activation and thats all Im going to do. My m8 has already done one using his nokia.

Awesome!

ERU

can I use a top-up voucher or do I have to use my credit/debit card?

Mardoni

cant see why a top-up voucher wont work. I dont know for certain but it should.

Would I be right in thinking youve picked this up from DF ? If so, Im the same and I too couldnt work out the activation stuff that easily :)

ERU

I got the idea off UKHD but seen it on DF too. Ive got it all sorted now :) Its a bit slow but works! Cheers all!

Mardoni

So how did you activate it in the end ?

ERU

I put it into a random friends phone that was unlocked, tried to make a call and got diverted to the top-up line. Sorted!
