At uni when I was still doing computing, we found that Unreal Tournament (the first one mind) could be run from a cd. Im sure the same process would make it possible to run from a flash stick...?
There are copys of Age of Empires, Quake 1 and 2, Doom 1 and 2, SimCity Classic kicking about that will happily run from CD/USb stick/Flash Memory. Think I orginally found them on torrents.
Maybe you should be doing some work instead of games while at College as you will need to know as much as you can get, and you might learn something new too! -)

MAME FTW
Good point, your best bet may be a emulator with roms

Considerin im only at college 3 days a week, to get out of payin council tax, rent to my mum and get £30 a week EMA, work 39 hours a week to go travelin, and while im at college just do ICT level 2 (lol)
1. dont think i will learn anything even if i payed 100% attention
2. games are more fun than office programs
3. grrrrrrrrrrrr
but cheers for all the other advice
think an emulator is lookin the best option
