Surprised I haven't found a thread on this yet! Anyone else played it? And if so what did you think? I've played the games, read the books and am not ashamed to admit I cried my eyes out for about 10 minutes when dom died.

it is a much better game than the second, especially online. The story was good and some of the easter eggs they've put in are great.

Not played it yet, resisting the urge to buy another 360.

Finally got round to playing this. First 360 game I've played in 18 months or so!

I actually found myself not liking this as much as GoW2. The campaign for me was dull for the first half, with the characters only really starting to come through like I felt they did in previous games ONLY after "Dom". EG in 2, Dom's search for Maria had a lot of communication in it and progression. Marcus and Dom barely spoke to each other in 3, and they didn't really speak much to other characters too. It felt as though every time there was a chance for some good dialogue or a good cutscene started, it'd be a case of "well, we've got to- OH NOES, MORE THINGS TO SHOOT!" 

This, combined with bad transitions (one second you've gone in a lift and pushed a button, the next the lift is open and you're outside) made me feel that bits had been cut out, either to be put back in as DLC or as extras if you play through on Insane.

Gameplay wise and game mechanics it's good though. Not had a chance to go online yet...

fair play. i think the stories of the games make more sense if you've read the books though, they go into a lot more detail about what happens inbetween games and back in the pendulum wars too, they're very well written, i couldn't put them down.
