yep -got AVG, Zone alarm & spybot

used to have a free trial with norton when I got my laptop but tbh.. ive never been arsed with paying for this stuff when the free software works fine for me

My vote goes to other as Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security isnt on the list.

I agree but I did say that this was for internet security packages, which is to say not singular packages but more firewall/AV/spam etc in one... I have put Spybot, Avast! and ZA on my missuses PC.

AVAST Anitvirus is the best freebie for winblows.

AVG, ZoneAlarm, Spybot and Adaware. Often if you pay they have facilities you dont need or just cause you more problems than they are worth, the above combination works without any problems. It might take a little longer to install but its worth it.

Thats great, and I dont want to keep harping on about it, but can we please just talk about the topics subject? I wasnt enquiring about free services, but packages alot of people use which have all the spyware/spam/av/firewall in a suite.... so please, can we dicuss the topic and vote accordingly, cheers.

Avast is free includes a firewall and anti spyware (its virus scanner picks up spyware too)

Avast! is an antivirus program and there is not a real firewall in it. I agree about spyware though as it is quite good for that, not the best but good.

"It can be viewed as a lightweight firewall (or more precisely, an IDS (Intrusion Detection System)". Id say it would be ineffective as a firewall alone.

How about OneCare?

Apparently it is proving to be very popular

ive never bothered with any such programs as i use Mac/Linux, but i can honestly say Norton was utterly hurrendous when i used a PC with it on, bloat and nothing more more than bloat.
