is there any chance someone can e-mail me, or upload a copy of the above file for me?
Ive got Windows 7 on the desktop, but its 64Bit. The new netbook has Win7 Starter, and it lacks that little app. I want to try and avoid reinstalling if I can, but I cant seem to find a working copy of gpedit for Win7. I know it works if you drag it in to Home Basic, so I assume itll work on this!
doh.... was about to clock send on the email.... but Im on 64 bit too :(
EDIT: actually.... if the file is on the 32bit iso of win7 Ill have it for you in 2 min ;)
EDIT2: it not on he install disk.... at least not in any form i can get at it..... used to be you could open the cad files with winrar... but not these new ones they use :(
Im on W7 Home, and its not on there... Sorry mate
no probs folks, Im just trying to keep Win7 on this little thing. If I cant get the VGA output, and a couple of other minor things working Ill just slap another OS on here. I Gather you can pull the settings out using GPEDIT and its associated files.
so far however Id seriously recommend one of these netbooks!
What make/model do you have? Ive been considering it!
New MSI Wind U135. Similar speed and spec to the N280 netbooks, but the CPU is the new N450 instead. Its not stunningly fast, or massively speccy, but what swung it was the wireless-N and the chicklet keyboard is nice to use. I avoided netbooks previously because they put me in typo hell, and the dinky trackpad that they all seemed to come with was impossible for my fat fingers to use.
Oh, and I reset a windows 7 pro license that wasnt being used anymore. MS even do a nice little tool that allows you to pick up the ISO file, and put it on to a 4Gb USB stick for installation.
