Ok the nvidia soudn chips on their motherboards with the interface and the 5.1 features on mobos like the dfi lan party etc were good quality and I liked them.

My new mobo is very nice but I am not keen on the abit 5.1 it seems mainly the software control but there is no updates and its a bit crap, fading in and out sound and the 5.1 just dont sound right.

It uses Soundmax and I am not keen, it seems to try and control peaks automatically so the sound vairies a lot and is a mess.

Can anyone recommend a pci sound card that is not huge in price that offers good simple sound software (not bloated) and good quality.

My 5.1 is on Jacks so I need 5.01 jack plugs.

Thanks

Check that its not got some sort of Dynamic Compression on or volume leveling.  My SB X-Fi has the option to do this, but I have it turned off.

Other than that, if you want a decent sound card I would recommend the SB X-Fi, cheaper ones can be had for Ã,£34~

Its not quite the model I have, but its not far off.

Hi m8, hows things?
Yeah I thought there would be an option but the software is actually very limited in this sence and is actually just not very good I think and just does it.

Looking at the soundmax software this AZUS version seems lacking with a few issues.

theres a really budget-looking x-fi called the xtremegamer or something.  Anyone know what its like?

I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

hmmm.  any comments on the actual card though?  I heard a rumour it was just a rebranded SB live!24 or something :S
