What Im looking for may very well not exist...however does anyone know of a:

- PCI Graphics Card
- That can handle HD Resolutions
- If its NVIDIA has PureVideo, if its ATI has their equivalent (dont know the name)
- Will fit in a d530 slim line case (below):

edit: Im trying to find a more useful picture...will update when I do

Standard PCI? I thought VGA cards with that slot were long extinct

They are. I have a d530 I want to use as a cheap media centre and it only has a PCI slot. :(

had a quick look around, the only things I can find in PCI are older stuff like the FX5200 and Radeon 7000 series.  they dont have the relevant codecs built into them, so youll need a really beefy CPU instead.  Your other option is a 780G chipset, and a cheapy Sempron AM2 socket CPU.  Though obviously costs more than just getting a new GFX card.

Those sorta cards arnt going to fit I dont think - there isnt really any space for anything to overhang after the back of the PCI socket. :(

Its only got a P4 2.4ghz in it and I think even with ffdshow tweaked for a lower cpu it isnt even going to be close to powerful enough :(

Perhaps youd do well to build a more up to date system...maybe get a G31?

nah, for HD decoding you want an AMD 780G out of the present crop of motherboards.  The Intel ones dont have the hardware decoding HD signals, so rely on software and the CPU.

OK, hows about get a cheap intel mATX, and just get a cheapo AGP card
