How can anyone get addicted to WoW? Its like EQ-superlite, it has absolutely no substance to actually get addicted to.

Quote from: Chris HHow can anyone get addicted to WoW? Its like EQ-superlite, it has absolutely no substance to actually get addicted to.

From the article :

QuoteIts a communal game, not a solitary session with the PlayStation. You make friends, and some of them might even be the girls they claim to be.

Thats why people get addicted.  :D

Personally I dont think they get addicted to the game, they simply get addicted to what the game provides - a very simple way to achieve seemingly impossible goals. In real life if I want to save Ã,£1000 it will take me months, if I want 1000 gold in WoW it will take me less than a week.

That combined with the social aspect brings this passtime above and beyond simply a computer game.

WoWRadio (http://www.wcradio.com) have done many shows regarding addiction, including the station owner flying to the US to do a presentation in a Uni on this very topic. People addicted to Wow? - OBJECTION.

I tried to like WoW (fourteen-day trial), but...it just didnt click with me I guess, lost interest after only about 6 hours playtime.
Have to admit the CG sequences for it are impressive though (Sheep Spell!?). :)
