My Mum has just got broadband at home and Id like her to be able to get free calls wherever possible.

What are the options for a simple VOIP (or other) solution. I know some of you guys have something setup.

It needs to be simple to use and idealy not requie the PC to be on. Am I right in thinking ive seen phones that plub directly into the phone/ADSL socket and make calls directly over the internet.

Really dont know much about this so any help is appriciated.

I think they do handsets that plug directly into the ADSL connection, not sure though.

The other ways are to either set up a router and then conversion device, normal phone to IP or for her to go talktalk or similar.

Really talktalk is simpler.
