I dont see a problem with it.

Its got a grown up name, so its not all about the games.

Tbh these online petition sites all have a common flaw.  How are the ones targetted supposed to know about it.  Not they will give it much notice.

Imo I think the main reason they gave gone with a name like wii is that is a word that is not constrained by any language barrier. :?

When i first heard about it i was annoyed and disapointed however after reading so much about it online it was obivously a good choice... the amount of publicity it has already recieved and the fact that it is something people wont forget.

As people that have worked in a gamestore will confirm, people just dont understand / remember console names..

"I want a gamestation please"
"Urrr thats the name of the store, do you mean playstation / Xbox / Gamecube etc"
"no, i want a gamestation"

I cant see that happening with the Wii

its not as bad as people make out, its novel and gets across nintendos idea of what the console should be.... id buy one regardless of the name.

Im starting to like it, when you think about it most consoles have naff names;

Gameboy
Xbox
Playstation
etc


Some tongue-in-cheek advertising would be cool imo.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.
