and I like the sound of the ati, but i had new idea they had new cards out :O (ive been out the loop for a while). Last i heard nvidea were owning the gfx market, but i am gunna give the ati some consideration.

Shaun thanks for the links to the case etc, sounds like a much better idea :)

the 4870 is usually £30-£50 cheaper for equal quality, and the various websites are giving them very good reviews.  Toms and Hexus are both saying they are rather nice, and they both also commented in a couple of articles that they are quieter than a 260.  Also smaller as I understand it.  By example the 4870 Ive got in mine is running Oblivion with the settings turned up all the way, and its not even flinching (1680x1050).  Also STALKER plays perfectly, and Crysis is playable (but as you would guess, not gorgeous).  I was considering a 9800 GTX until I read the previews of these, and the writeups of the 4850.  If you are looking to get a little bit of a budget then the 4850 may be an option, however its only got an internal fan, so the case realyl does need some decent cooling.
