k, firstly if you mess up the first few levels by losing too many ships or not getting enough money youre screwed for later levels.
But then if you do too well the game screws up. I blew up the baddie mothership in the 1st nebula mission and after the hyperspace jump fails Im supposed to defend my mothership from baddies, except there arent any.
Nothing happens cos I cant jump til Ive shot all the baddies who dont exist so I gotta start again from the beginning of the last level and not blow up the baddy mothership.
The intro sequence with the Agnus Dei is awesome thogh :wub:

Heathen! All the homeworld games are awesome.
But it does sound as if its a little buggy, cant say Ive come across those problems before, and Ive played through all the homeworld games a couple of times each. Best thing about the first homeworld, being able to pinch as many ships as you want from the computer, who needs money to build things :D
I so wish there was a Homeworld 3 :( Damn Sierra sticking to the licence.
How dare you! homeworld 1 is one of my fave games of all time. Oh and at the end of each level before you jump off make sure you have harvested the zone dry and rebuild any fleet you have :)
Oh and the story and music are just perfect :)
I still prefer Cataclysm. Was the first in the series I played. It is also the game I have most played.

Cataclysms good, bit different from the Homeworld as it mainly seems to want you to use fighters than frigates early on, then you get some good ships late on. And then your motherships gets a masssssssive gun, so all is good.
Homeworld 2s probably my favourite out of the lot, mainly cause it has some big ships with big guns :D
Mechwarrior and Mechcommander are some games that should be brought back but I cant see that happening either :(
I really enjoyed Cataclysm, I dont think I prefered it over Homeworld but its damn close.
TA, Homeworld and MechCommand 1 are prob my top 3 games out there. Would be tempted to throw things like HL and such in there aswell but none of them have taken as much of my life away from me as those 3.
Homeworld 2 I got a few days before release (I was working at gamestation at the time) and loved it untill I got to that impossible mission which had me ripping my hair out (and was later made easier in the 1st patch)

lol i only had to cheat on the last level, i could start it legit with maximum all the big and mid units, but the amount of defending you need to do its nearly impossible, so i had to raise the max units.

Not really considering eve is so similar to elite im surprised they havent been done for copyright infringement.
Only real difference is the interface.
eve is completely different because you have to train skills for months to get anywhere
