Ive not decided how much im willing to pay yet, around £30ish, maybe more, better less?

I dont like ones that go like 5 inches in your ear drum, and they have to be in-ears. fussy huh?

any suggestions welcome though. especially any cheap sites.

Cant go wrong with Sennheisers IMO given your price point and requirements. MX550s can be had for £20.

White Giant

Yep I got a set of Sennheisers for about £32 about a year ago, only lasted 4 months though. The wire kept getting caught in my jacket zip, so the plastic coating came off.

Still, they were superb.

Yeah, theres a Sennheiser phone in your future.

Want closed:
HD201 if youre on a budget. Long cord, likes big power
HD205 Better bass, shorter cord, tighter fit, better for portables.
HD212 Slightly compact, emphasized bass.

Open back (better soundstage, but annoys other people):
HD435 Lightsticktastic.
HD415 Studiotastic!

Theres a billion more models of course.

Vini

I <3 my Sony MDR-300. Nice bass. Nice sounds all round.

Rarely use them like, but theyre good when I do.

Cypher

Think you can pick up some Shure EC2s for about £40 these days.  Probably the best of the budget range imo.
