"The bottom line, now, I'm afraid, is that as a late stage gall bladder cancer patient, I'm expected to live for 'several months' and it's extremely unlikely I'll live beyond a year. So it looks like my latest novel, The Quarry, will be my last."

Man.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

I don't know the chap's work at all, but that's a horrible thing to have and to have to divulge to people, hopefully he will beat his odds or have a smooth transition if there really is nothing they can do. Very sad.

Very sad indeed, easily my favourite Sci Fi author, the imagination of the man is just stagering.

Barring a miracle, he will be a sad loss to the world :-(

Russell

Very sad really, I haven't read any of his stuff yet either, got a couple of his books sitting on my bookshelves that I picked up cheaply at book fairs, I'll have to give them a read just a shame that once you get through them you know that's it.  Hopefully he'll be able to finish off the books on a high and give a proper ending to the series.
