IE8 at the same development stage as FF3 as I have tried both and read up - 3/4 times slow then it already.
They are being lazy, they are just taking the core of IE7 changing the standards and adding new features most done by FF3 / 2 / safari default or through addons already.

Its pants and they will loose a lot more users with IE8 as well.

people like me (and 99.9% of people) dont give two flying f**ks about what features browsers have.

If they display pages, and they dont lock up (like firefox) theyre ok.

Actually according to the tests ive seen. Firefox only beats IE7 on starts from cold. Once IE has been loaded once in a session, it beats firefox. Admittedly the timing is down to half a second but still.

IE8 is beta.. firefox 3 being released on tuesday is hardly a fair comparison either.
