Title: Image Editing on Windows
Post by: M3ta7h3ad on August 02, 2006, 22:00:43 PM
Rightyoh... while im fixing my main pc im stuck using a pc downstairs.

650Mhz, and 512Mb Ram.

Gimp I know of and hate quite a bit, I dislike it because it just seems so damn difficult to use when compared to photoshop or similar.

Are there any nice image editing suites out there that I can download (for free ideally) for windows that doesnt involve the cackhandedness of the GIMP interface?? That will also work on this slightly slower computer :)

Are you using Gimp 1 or 2? I find Gimp 2 to be more logical than P-shop, especially with the dockable dialog bits. Its lacking features in some areas, but not areas I need--short of easy batching. With Gimp you can allocate the memory used in the preferences. Runs fine here on a 1.1ghz/256, then again, I do most of my image editing whilst logged into Openbox.

If youre used to P-shop, then try Gimp-shop:
