Title: iPaq fun
Post by: Mongoose on November 06, 2006, 11:42:00 AM
A friend of mine has given me an iPAQ 3630 which he no longer needs. It has a fairly new battery and seems to work well, but TBH my Palm IIIxe does everything I need from an everyday PDA and is slightly smaller.

Then I discovered you can put Linux on an iPAQ, sounds like fun! alas most of the sites relating to this kind of project seem to be unmaintained. Does anyone have any info relating to any linux distros for handhelds which will run on an old iPAQ and still actually exist?

wooot I have Familiar Linux 0.84 up and running on my iPAQ. It does basically the same things as the WinCE it replaces, but it looks cooler and has more of the feeling of a "proper" OS with a task bar etc.
