Is it worth getting an SSD?

I've done some light upgrading to my PC, can't quite stretch to a new Core i5/7 series rig yet.

I've gone from :

Intel Core2Quad Q6600
4GB DDR2
ATI 4850 Graphics

to

Intel Core2Quad Q6600
8GB Corsair Dominator DDR3
AMD HD6850 1Gb Graphics

Is it worth putting an SSD in there?  Current windows scores come in at 7.1 for CPU and Ram, 7.7 for graphics and 5.7 for HDD.

A lack of SSD is what is holding you back.

The 120Gb OCZ Agility 3 can be had for under £100 and would make a fantastic boot drive, you will never look back once you're on one.

Looks like a good buy.
Not bothered about a screaming fast computer, just a well rounded one.

single best upgrade I've ever had.

Only one I can think that comes close is going from 64mb PC100 to 512mb pc133 back in the day.

I'm still not taken by the idea, I don't find my computer slow and I feel if I wait another 6 months then I'll get more the size/price I want.

Hmmm, I don't know...

If you're not that bothered I would agree on waiting, prices are constantly coming down. The 128GB m4 I paid £120 - discount for is now down to around £110, as you've seen others can be had cheaper, 256Gb ones have broken the £1/GB barrier too. Wait it out and unless the far east gets whacked by another earthquake they should continue to drop.

Just get a 'cheap' 64GB one sod waiting, you don't need 100GB+ IMO, 64GB as a bootie is fine, later down the line you can always get a bigger/better SSD, use that as the bootie, and your now 'old' boot SSD as a games drive or something  :heehaw:

Just spent upgrade PC money on upgrade bike money :D

SSD can wait.

I presume it' SATA2?  I really wouldn't bother.

Yes it will boot quicker, but I really wouldn't bother.   I'm running a Core2Quad these days, I'll wait to my next upgrade.
