...avoid!

I bought one and have had lots of problems with it. Seems like the cable isnt sheilded or has incredibly poor shielding. Turning a light on downstairs makes the screen black out for about 1/2 a second.

Or the heating coming on.

Or turning my tv on.

Or turning my iDeck on.

You get the picture

Serious

Try wrapping aluminium foil around the cable and see if it improves. OK its a long shot but just might work.

Ive ordered a proper MS one, this can go in the bin!

Sweenster

i have the proper ms one

works a treat, it has the usual ms build quality, which unlike their software is damn good

Serious

So how do we find out if it would work?  :?

If it does it will act as a temporary until the genuine item arrives and you never know, the MS one might be equally as bad.

Tried vista?

Yeah, no problems with the official one here either :)

Sweenster

Not tried vista yet, mostly because no windows has been safe to use until at least the first service pack.

The vga ability of the 360 is damn good, automatically switches from tv settings to monitor settings.

Pity the ps3 wont having anything as good apart from possibly taking the video signal from a hdmi to a dvi. But tbh i doubt it will be worth the effort.

After doing a quick search round some xbox forums it appears other people have similar interference problems with the joytech vga cable. It appears the MS one is of much better quality.

Deaths Head

My Joytech VGA cable works just fine.  Has done since I got it last December.
