It's a Michael Bay film, you can't expect things like plot to get in the way of the whizz, pops and bangs... oh look shiny explody thing. :w00t:
Quite enjoyed the film for what it was and to be honest I thought there was less over the top fighting in this one than the others (but when there was fighter it was really over the top :P)
Don't get me wrong i will end up watching it and rate it myself, i just like his idea to review without words :muttley:
Me and my girlfriend went in knowing it got bad reviews and knew it was a big bang, look and feel action sci-fi type affair.
Good movie!
All until last 20 minutes me and everyone else in the cinema were glued to the screen.
It will make a lot of money as the family can come and watch it, couples and it is just a good release for a couple of hours.
Critics sometimes (well quite often) rate every movie as if it was up for an Oscar. They never take action movies or family movies for what they are sometimes and I always feel that is wrong.

You can add the freeway scene in the Matrix to that as it is similar along with half a dozen movies though. TBH you can pick 20 movies from the last 10 years and find lots of similar scenes.
Giant robots.... Check.
Exploding things.... Check.
Pretty ladies.... Check.
Cracking one liners.... Check.
Stunning CGI.... Check.
I'm a fan of intellectual cinema as much as the next person but sometimes it's nice to leave your brain at the door and just watch things explode.

Exactly right...
I go see the movies for what they are and it is not always just about the script.
Next to go see is Harry Potter. End looks really action packed.

Agreed, it's "giant robots shooting sh*t up" not Schindler's List.

I think the person is griping that he's re-using footage rather than just saying that a scene looks similar. To be fair I think it's a legitimate gripe, I hadn't picked up on that one but there were a few shots taken from Pearl Harbour in the original Transformers, and the second Transformers film re-used tonnes of shots from the first film along with bits from Mission Impossible III.
It's fairly sh*tty when it's obviously done, but from what I can gather the reason they ended up reusing footage from the Island in the third film was because there was a fairly horrific accident while they were filming the scene originally and they're stuck in the middle of a rather nasty legal battle at the moment. So ironically the only reusing of footage from previous films that seems to have a legitimate reason is the only one that really hits the headlines and that most people seem to pick up on.
Looked it up. A tow-cable snapped, hitting film extra Gabriella Cedillo and resulting in a serious head injury, leaving her paralysed.
Tight deadlines, legal battle so they had to do something.
Bay did the Island, He was doing Transformers, They had footage they could use, they used it. Seems to work and does not stand out like it does not belong...
With the above in mind, I agree nothing wrong with doing that and it very likely many movies do this and it a very common practise where either budget or some issue causes footage to be re-used.
Things are edited and modded in such a way these days I bet you could pull lots of movies doing it that you never noticed before.

You can go on and on with the reusing in movies stuff..
Nolan reused in the batman movies, and stuff from Batman in Inception.. Until someone pointed it out to you I bet you never noticed though. I didn't, I have them in HD.
Happens all the time without us knowing.
I don't have a problem with sensible re-use of footage/stock footage/dubbed effects, etc to save money if it serves a good purpose and adds to the film, but if its just a cheap way of extending all the action scenes to the nth degree then its its a bit poor. If they were going to do that anyway then it really would be pointless refilming pretty much the same shot when they can simply CGI in what's needed. Give the immense budget these films get I'm surprised Bay would bother reusing anything at all though!

We're just going to go over the same points again and again, but one more time:
I know it happens all over Hollywood. But Michael Bay does it in such a ham-handed and obvious way that you can't help but notice. I did and many other people did as well, even if you didn't.
But it is not ham-handed, I and many others never noticed..
Look at other directors and the reuse of props, built scenes, footage, costumes and actors from different movies. Most of them do it. Once you know about them you can say exacty the same to you above.
If it was so obvious just about everyone knows. Asked my brother who has the first two moves at home too - never noticed, asked a few people on twitter, never noticed till that youtube video.

I thought it was sh*t, confusing, too long, boring and contrived.
Highlight was Leonard Nimoy with some spock references, that was about it.

For the last time, in plain and simple English.
The fact that you didn't pick up on it is irrelevant, as is the fact that your brother didn't. The world doesn't revolve around you and your brother and some random people you know on Twitter. Other people did pick up on it. Enough people did that you can't defend it as unnoticable. If it was unnoticable then people wouldn't have noticed. <- Do you see the logic at work here?
To be honest I'd say most people wouldn't notice. Only the die hard moviegoers would possibly spot these things. I mean, the footage of the crash from the island, If most people watched the two films back to back most wouldn't bat an eyelid, and of those that do most would think "heh, that looked a little familiar". Give the time between films a few days and that number would drop dramatically. And of those who do notice, I doubt many would be bothered enough to actually take the time to double check.
Edit - Never mind. Posts removed because arguing with idiots gives me a headache.
I didn't notice anything that screamed THIS IS BEING REUSED!!! but hey I wasn't looking for it.
I didn't notice until the video, one person noticed and some other people agreed, thats not the same as everyone noticing by themselves.
Don't have an issue with reusing scenes, whats more of an issue is having to sit through movies where they spend 95% of the budget on the cast. Expendables!
I'm not sure why everyone is caught up on what sh*t was reused from another film and what not when clearly the main issue is that THE FILM IS sh*t.

Not really a nice comment there.

Seems pretty clear that most here do not really care and do not / did not notice these as being obvious to notice so basically your calling us ALL idiots in implication.
Charming. :disappointed:
Without wanting to drag this out any futher, I have to admit I'm sort of on Liam's side with this one. Unless I was a Bay worshipper I doubt I would have noticed or cared, but I've not watched the comparison clip because I don't really want to have something I'll then notice forever more in the film, like when you notice a gaff, or wires, or the little black blob in the corner of the cinema picture that tells you a few frames before a scene is about to change... Once seen cannot be unseen and all that. It only spoils enjoyment.
Yes it is noticable, but I'm sure it's not like they sellotaped two cuts of film together. Either way it's not worth losing sleep over IMO.
Is that Whatshername Huntingface-Whittington bird as pig ugly as she appears to be? I can't believe they replaced Megan Fox with the arse end of a horse.

It odd, Some times she looks bloody hot and then at other angles she doesn't.
English posh accent is quite hot and she has a great ass and legs but not my type at all.
Jason Stathom? Loves her and he could have any women he wants and she is a modal so she must have something.
Megan Fox was replaced because she is a cow and from what I have read most directors and movie staff (actors wont say anything bad about her) that have worked with her seem to echo similar sorts of stuff. She is actually heading down to Lindsey Lohan land where she is not picking up as much work as she probably wants.
A number of references to Megan in the movie and saying how bad her character was, the transformers did not like her. (And you know they mean Megan)
I've not got any problem with them replacing her, it just should have been with someone that is considerably better eye candy :)
