Hey Guys, for about the past week iv been using my USB mouse on my laptop, but i noticed last night that the TouchPad on the laptop stopped working, well the cursor seems stuck but the USB mouse still works fine. Iv tried everything like removing the USB mouse & uninstalling it but the TouchPad mouse still will not work, iv even tried uninstalling & reinstalling the TouchPad drivers but still no luck, but this is stange, there is still some light in the TouchPad working because each time i shut down windows on the Laptop, when it says windows is shutting down the TouchPad will magically work again untill the laptop shuts down, the same thing happens too when windows has just loaded the desktop after start up, but the TouchPad will only work for about 5 seconds or so before it locks up again, i hope this problem isnt too serious and i have a slight feeling it could be a Driver or a Registry conflict, could any one you guys help me out?

Thanks - Liam

what laptop is it?
Some HP ones have a button above the touchpad that enables/disables the pad.

Acer 5101AWLMi, its only 6 months old but it does not have a button that enables/disables the TouchPad, there are 4 buttons in the middle of the left & right click buttons that are just for navigation on web browsers.

Problem sorted now :D i read up somewhere else about a method where you press the FN+F7 together on the laptop and it enables / disables the TouchPad mouse, glad this sorted the problem :)
